Amanda: Day 295. Spooktacular Farm.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
It's Czhilispiel weekend! That means I get to see the fabulous Svatek clan! This is the beginnings of their new old farm outside of Flatonia. I was greeted by this lovely pumpkin to help guide me in and then it served as festive decoration through the weekend. I LOVE the Svatek clan!
Amanda: Day 294. Piney Woods.

Driving the Sam Houston National Forest and the sun was setting, I love East Texas.
Amanda: Day 293. What Happens When You Get Behind.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
You have to borrow your friend's computer so you can keep track of everything. :D
Amanda: Day 292. Going Down.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
Sun was going down, going down the bridge...and I just can't resist a good sunset.
Amanda, Day 291. Spider's Art.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
I was leaving San Antonio early this morning and this caught my eye. It was connected to a yield sign and the ground and that was it. It was so large and beautiful. I can't imagine how long it took this spider to create this.
Here's a little post processing for you to enjoy:

Amanda: Day 290. Like Father, Like Son.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
My Uncle Cliff and his son, Chase playing together at the church festival. This was the biggest church festival I've ever been to. I've been to town festivals that were smaller than this. They have to have raised no less than $20,000 during their live fundraiser. It was insane1

Amanda: Day 289. Brothers.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
These are my awesomely talented cousins, Chase and Clint (left to right). They played pretty much all day with various bands at the Bruce Robison homecoming concert in Bandera. They rocked the house!
Amanda: Day 288. End of the Day.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
I went out tonight to see Gary Glenn and the 20X Band, then had Taco C with the family and got all tucked cozily into bed and then remember..."HOLY CRAP! I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE!" So I took a picture of the closet thing to me. The night stand with all my jewelry and hair accessories. :D
Amanda: Day 287. Picky Dog.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
My dog, Katy, is great but she has her crazy moments. Sometimes she screams in the middle of the night. And sometimes she won't eat for days. This is her on my bed. I put out food for her and she picked up on small bite of food and then placed it back on the bed. Crazy dog.
Amanda: Day 286. One Lane Tunnel.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
As we all know, I love backroads in Texas. This is one of my favorite parts. On 390, in between Independence and Burton, there is an one lane tunnel. It scares the bejeebus out of me every time I go through it, but it's one of a kind. I've never seen another one like it.
Amanda: Day 285. Hovering Grasshopper.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
This little dude was on my windshield after lunch. He wouldn't move. I drove through half of town with him on it before he finally jumped off.
Amanda: Day 284. Back in black.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
*giggles* Sometimes I'm so funny, I kill myself. The calf was up near the fence when I initially drove by so I pulled a u-ey and tried to capture it. However, after a few clicks the calf decided it had enough and decide to retreat with its mother. But I still thought this shot was cute.
Amanda: Day 283. Danny and Angel.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
This is the Danny and Angel mentioned in the last post. Aren't they cute? I make a yearly trek to the DFW every year around Danny's birthday and this was our last outing, Fred's in Ft. Worth. Excellent cheese fries and great live music and of course, good friends.
Amanda: Day 282. Just a Swinging.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
It was my friend Danny and his girlfriend, Angel's birthday weekend so we went to Babe's Chicken House in Burleson. This place was SOOOO good (and there was a wait long enough to prove it). We waited over an hour so I decided to kill time at the carnival setup in the adjacent street. I love small towns festivals. There was a man on a lawnmower pulling 55-gallon barrels that had been cutout and put on wheels. And of course, if that wasn't enough, there were these swings and a "carousel."
Amanda: Day 281. Late Night Date.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
Aren't they so cute? I was leaving Aggie Happy Hour in Arlington around midnight and this couple was sitting on the benches having the best time. I hope the rest of their night went just as well!
Amanda: Day 280. Halloween Goodies.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
Okay, I have a confession. I addicted to bulk items. Anything in cute glass jars. large plastic bins or shiny metal containers makes it simply irrestible to me! One of my favorite markets just put out Halloween candies. I have never seen such a plethora of Halloween candy. There were three other sides just like full of goodies! (And I bought the pumpkin spice bark, just in case you were wondering.)
Amanda: Day 279. Family Dinner.
From Amanda's 365 Project |
This is my grandparent's new dining room! My grandma just offically moved into the house last week so this was the first dinner they have had in their new house that had to be rebuilt after Hurricane Ike. I made porkchops with applesauce, carrots, mashed potatoes and rolls. It was awesome to sit down with my family and enjoy dinner and good conversation!

Jenna. Nov 21. Packin.
This is the kids’ suitcase. Three kids in one suitcase. [one in diapers!] For one whole week. Pretty good, I’d say.
The temps are also supposed to be in the 80s during the day and 60s at night. Plus, we will have a washing machine there. We leave tomorrow. Can’t wait.
Jenna. Nov 20. Carlee & Daddy.
Jenna. Nov 19. Boys & toys.
We visited Kevin's sister + family this weekend for Thanksgiving celebrations. Tonight we went out to eat and the boys surrounded the video game as an unsuspecting patron actually put money in.
Jenna. Nov 18. [Left] foot + staples.
....taken right before I got them out! Yay, I can go through the metal detectors when we go to Disney World.
Jenna. Nov 17. First Haircut.
Kennedy got her first haircut today. Just an inch or two, to cut off the dead ends.
She's three-and-a-half years old, after all.
But I wanted every part of her to scream "little girl".
I think this is a good compromise.
Jenna. Nov 16. Cake balls.
I helped hostess a baby shower this past weekend and one of the other hostesses made cake balls. I could not get them out of my head - they were so yummy and perfectly made. So, I talked about them with the kids and we agreed we needed to make them together today.
They were a bit of work - the basic recipe isn't difficult, but it is a little labor-intensive. It took all of us baking, mixing, rolling, and cooling to get them done. But they are suuuuper yummy!
Jenna. Nov 15. Library.
I've said before, but we really enjoy going to our public library every few weeks. Here's Carlee playing puzzles in the children's section with one of her friends from CBS (who is 10 days younger than Carlee).
Jenna. Nov 13. Colby's soccer trophy.
This spring Colby had his trophy for about 2.5 seconds, when he dropped it on the floor and it shattered into a million pieces. [okay, well not really a million.. I think it was like 3, but still more than 1 piece is not really show-able for a 5 year-old.]
So, this is Colby's trophy for this fall. Yay, green dragons!

Jenna. Nov 10. Carlee's birthday.
Carlee turned 2 today. You have to know I'm not short on words Here's the blog post I wrote, which is still incomplete. :)
Jenna. Nov 9. Pretty Plates.
This morning was our monthly leadership lunch fellowship at CBS. I thought these were pretty, even though they were paper.
Jenna. Nov 7. Seeing a show.
My parents are so kind to give us tickets to OPAS on the A&M campus every year. Some for Christmas presents. Some just because.
Here's Colby & Kennedy standing on the set of To Give a Cat a Cupcake. After the show Kennedy kept asking me to make cupcakes. With sprinkles.

Jenna. Nov 6. No more boom(er).
The title of this post has really nothing to do with the picture. Tonight the Aggie football team beat Oklahoma at Kyle Field - 33-19. We went over to my parents' house to watch the game, since we don't get many tv channels at our house.
A rule at Doc & Belle's house is "no food in the living room". So, these steps divide the kitchen from the living room.
Pushing boundaries? Or just a place to sit?
I took it to be the latter.
Jenna. Nov 5. Look what I did today.
I have really enjoyed reading The Hunger Games trilogy, and I am a little sad that this is the third and final book. (Hence, trilogy.)
I see a lot of similarities between Hunger Games and the book of Revelation.... anyone else?
