First Theme of the Year!

I know I've been really behind on all posting this year. In order to keep this fresh and active, I think we'll have a vote for the next upcoming theme. I'll provide three options, the one with the most votes is the offical theme for the following week, Sunday through Saturday. Does that sound like a deal? Here's our first three options:

My goal is to start having a theme every other week. You don't have to take a picture for theme every day, only if you want to do so. But I would like you to take a least one picture for the theme that week. Vote in the comments and the theme will be picked by Friday. (And you don't have to post pictures to vote, if you're a lurker, post what you'd like to see!)

End of the Year!

Wow! Can you believe it? Less than a week left until the end of the year and our 365 project. How did you do? So far, I've only missed two days, but I made up for it by taking pitures of what kept me busy those days.

I'm planning on doing the 365 project again. But I also plan to stay updated my frequently. My goal is to post three times a week. *IF* you guys are interested in doing this next year, I would like to have more themes to keep us engaged with each other. If you have any other ideas on how to make 2011's 365 project better, let me know. So...who's in for next year?

Amanda: I'm Still Here!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm still here. I've fallen way behind in posting because I've been on the road and time (and internet) is very limited. But I have been taking a picture every day and I can't wait to share them all with you! In the mean time, I'm enjoying your pictures, so please keep posting them!

New Makeover.

I played around with design tonight. I'd appreciate any input you guys have. In case you don't remember, here are some of the changes. The are not one but TWO major changes! First, the posts used to have a white background, now they are black with a white border to (hopefully) make your pictures pop more. Second, it's taken a while, but the comments format is different. It will no longer pop up in a new window AND *DRUM ROLL PLEASE* you can click "Subscribe by email." You don't even have to comment, so for those of you who lose track of comments, you can click this immediately after you post and all future comments will be emailed to you. How exciting is that?!? Some other small changes are the post titles are a little larger, the date is now shown by a nifty tab and I changed the archives to weekly instead of daily (it was just getting too long, I could also go monthly, let me know what you think.)

The only thing I'm not happy with is the colors for the footer and the blog title. I need someone who speaks html to help me out. I am trying to tell it to be the same color as the posts, but there seems to be some sort of opaque box over it or something. I cannot for the life of me figure it out, so if someone could help out. I would be forever grateful. I'm also planning (someday) to do an awesome header. I just haven't had the time to work on it. So really, PLEASE let me know your thoughts. Good or bad. I can take criticism. I promise I won't kick you off the blog. ;)

Also, just a reminder that "Sky" week will start on Sunday, June 13th. YAAAAY! *AND* we've reached over 1000 posts!!!!! YAY!!! Congrats to Jenna for being the 1000th poster!!!!

Update!

I just wanted to tell you guys we have two more posts until our 1000th post!!! How crazy is that!?! Six months and about 155 pictures later, I'm still so excited! I can't wait to see who it is either. And I just wanted to say congratulations to those who still post. I love seeing a little glimpse of your life everyday. To those who have fallen off track, don't be afraid to start back in please! You can pick any day to start back up so join the rest of us!!

So I've been thinking of a theme week again. Since most of us have taken a picture of this recently, I thought it would be interesting for us all to do it at the same time. The theme is "Sky." I was originally thinking sunrise and sunsets but after seeing the most amazing clouds today, I decided to expand it and make it a broader category. Now the next question is, would you like to start this Sunday the 6th or next Sunday the 13th? General consensus will win.

(Really, thanks again for doing this with me. I can't tell you how happy I get when you update your pictures!)

The Theme for March is.........

GREEN! Okay, it's a little cliche, but two votes won it. Next week's theme, March 14-20th, is the color green. So as always think outside of the box and take some AWESOME pictures!!!! (And don't forget to tag them with the label "green.")

And Kristen, I'm definitely down for the stripes theme and the educational pictures. So let's coordinate and do them together at some point!

(So I'm a little behind, let's just pretend that didn't happen.) I'm so happy that most of you are still posting! Woo! We've made it 59 days and counting. AND we have over 500 posts, in case anyone takes note of that! I'm still excited about this and I get all giddy and filled with joy when I see a new post, so I'm going to thank you guys again for sticking with it! We haven't had a theme in a while, so I'm open to suggestions for this month. One trend I've come across would actually be an implement for the rest of year (as always, only if desired). It's called "Gratuitous Picture of Yourself Wednesday" or GPOYW for short. I promise I didn't make it up, google it.

As for themes, I'm leaving that up to you guys. So throw out your best theme idea, discuss someone's else's suggestion and then we'll pick by Sunday, 3/7 and then the theme will be in effect the following week (3/14-3/20). Got it? Awesome!

Don't Forget...IT'S RED WEEK!

To gear up for Valentine's Day and (as I learned last week) February is also Heart Awareness month. Always optional, but if you want to participate, showcase your pictures with anything red this week. Please tag them with "red" please!

Month 2, Day 32, Where is Everyone?

I know taking pictures everyday is hard in itself, not to mention uploading them. I know I've been guilty recently of not uploading often enough. But I think though the more we upload and comment on each other, the easier it is to stay motivated. We've had some pretty awesome pictures in the past thirty one days. Just think you've already finished ONE WHOLE MONTH!!! Some crazy percussion instructors I had in high school used to tell me that it takes 29 days to start a new habit (I think) so (hopefully) by now, you're in the habit of taking pictures everyday.

Next week, in honor of Valentine's Day, the theme will be the color red. So use your imagination, go wild, think outside the box. If you find yourself stuck this week, check this awesome article that Kevin posted last week. I hope to see you all continue this next month. And if you've fallen behind, don't give up!!! Just pick up where you left off and keep taking pictures!

Theme for January 17-23. Home.

So we'll start theme week. Building after the introduction theme, how about we introduce a little more of our lives. The theme is "Home" and you can take that however you want. It could be your physical house, your neighborhood, your town, your toothbrush, your favorite teddy bear, whatever. You can opt do the theme all week or one day this week. I would encourage you guys to look past the ordinary and try to capture something really neat. (And in the future, I'll try and post on Friday what the theme will be. I just wanted to get in a theme for this week.)

!Importante! Please label your post(s) for this theme with your name AND the label home. The labels are getting too "cluttery" so please keep them to general topics. Each theme will have a label and then perhaps "food," "people," "plants," etc. Just keep them general. Or you don't have to label with anything other than your name. Up to you. On another note, You guys are rocking it out. I REALLY look forward to seeing all the pictures everyday. I am really enjoying being able to see a little bit into your lives everyday.

The idea of doing themes has been brought up. Would you guys like to do a theme picture once a month, once a week, on days that end with the number 1? Or do a themed week? I'm open to anything, so ready, discuss!

So many people!

Since this project has taken off (quite unlike I expected, but I am SOOO excited about it), this coming Sunday will be introduction day. So if you haven't already, take a self-potrait (or have someone take it for you) and post it on Sunday along with whatever exciting information you wish to include (like where you're from, how you know me, what your favorite cereal is, stock information). Also, what would be cool to note (or take a picture of) is your weapon of choice when shooting your pictures. (Thanks Kevin.) If you don't post a pic, I'll find an embarassing picture of you from facebook and tell all the dirty secrets I know about you. (Okay, maybe not really, but I will find a pic of you and use it.) I think it's really cool that so many people from different areas of my life have come together to do this. I'm really excited about it, all of your pictures are GREAT(!!!) and I hope everyone continues to be this active in 360 days!!!
