Amanda: Day 59. Under the Boardwalk.

From Amanda's 365 Project

Or rather above. It was such a beautiful day today I convinced my friends we should go somewhere with sun and water. We ended up at the Kemah Boardwalk. While it was fun, it was definitely not worth the wait. We had a 45 minute wait at Joe's Crab Shack at 2:45 in the afternoon. On top of that, we had the worst service ever. We finally got out of there around 5:30. Three hours for lunch??? What the heck. Kemah=overrated. But I will say our view, especially nearing the dusk hours, was spectacular.

Day 59~"Tejas Band"

A high school friend of Cliff's passed away Friday night and it has really hit my husband pretty hard. He has formed a group on FB called "Remembering Harvey Hauck," so I decided to try and take some pictures of old pictures from his yearbook to upload them this week for him. Harvey is the drummer and Cliff is the guitar player on the left. I think this is the homecoming dance at the school gym in 1978.

Amanda: Day 58. Unexpected Surprises.

From Amanda's 365 Project

Ever have one of those really bad days? The days that you just need to walk away from what is happening and go? Yeah, today was that day. So I did just that. I walked away and got in my car and drove. As I was calming down, I saw this crane in a ditch. He was so elegant and beautiful that I had to turn around and catch him. However, he was not as interested in me as I was in him. This is as close as I got before he flew away. But his beauty and grace had a very (surprising) calming effect. Then as I was going through my pictures for the day, I realized the church sign in the background. That was definitely what I needed right at that moment!

p.s. the other things that help me not kill people calm me...Pat Green and a diet Vanilla Dr. Pepper.

Day 58~"Troop 343 Ceremony"

This is what I have done for our Boy Scout troop since my oldest became an Eagle scout in October of 2003. I plan ALL Courts of Honor for all of our scouts that make that final ledge in their trail to becoming an Eagle scout. I have another one (not my son's yet) in April.

Clint invited the science teacher of Chapel Christian Academy to see the project thus far, choose one of three different types of stains and where to put the sink, etc. He was very excited to see it!

Jenna. Feb 25. Colby's turn.

Sometimes Colby gets to play games on my iPhone. Sometimes he'll take pictures. Here is one from today.

Amanda: Day 56. Unexpected Rehearsal.

From Amanda's 365 Project

Indoor drumline is consuming my life. We normally have rehearsal Monday evenings, but something got changed at the school which caused us to move our rehearsal to Thursday. By changing our rehearsal, we no longer had access to the gym. So we have to move every single chair and table in the cafeteria so we could have rehearsal. It was crazy.

Jenna. Feb 22. Couponing Attempt #2.

Stick with me, fellow 365-dayers. Thanks for indulging me.

Guess how much I paid for this? $1.84 At Walgreens.

It should have been free, but I'm still learning the ropes and my girls decided to scream like banshees and Kennedy was jumping in the cart and the checkout guy was a mistaken commentator [you know the type - the one when I present the coupons says, "Oh, let's see, Excedrin? Do you have any Excedrin? Okay, Menstrual Complete, yes you do!" *groan*] I'm glad I wasn't buying anything any more, ahem, personal. And, I'll be visiting a different Walgreens location from now on.

Jenna. Feb 23. MORE SNOW.

My kids loved to watch the snow. And you'll appreciate the sequence of pics on my blog - http://www.kevinandjenna.com/blog/2010/02/23/jenna-feb-23-more-snow/

Day 56~"Eagle Project Work Day"

Tonight, Clint and several scouts and dads worked on the base cabinet of his Eagle project. When it is finished, it will be a mobile science cart for a small parochial school in Universal City. I will be taking more pics of this project as it continues until it is finished.

Amanda: Day 54. SNOW DAY!!!

From Amanda's 365 Project

Today turned out to be the best day I've had in a while. But it started off quite the other way. You see, I was a little sad because every time it has snowed in Texas the past year, I have always been in the wrong place. When it snowed in Houston, I was in San Antonio. When it snowed in Huntsville, I was in Bryan, you get the idea. So when I heard it was supposed to snow in Huntsville and I was in Houston, I was pretty bummed. However, I got a text from my boss telling me I needed to go to Huntsville to grab some paperwork. SCORE!!! I gladly hopped in the car and made the extra thirty minute drive past Conroe to Huntsville. About ten miles outside of Huntsville, the snow started. I was so excited that I rolled down the window and caught some on my sweater (the first pic). I did my work duties and headed to the Sam Houston Park where I knew the scenery would be absolutely beautiful. I was not disappointed. It was like stepping back in time or watching an old movie, it was magnificent! I called my cousin and we had the brilliant idea to take her snowboard out. It was an awesome AWESOME day, so please forgive my excessive pictures. I made them smaller so you wouldn't have to scroll so far. ;D
